Hi, my name is Jen! Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me :)

I am 35 years old, I'm an Air Force wife, and I'm the mom to three amazing little boys.  The four men in my life inspire me every day to live the healthiest life I can.  My goal is to inspire others to do the same.

I've never been the athletic type.  I swam competitively for 6 years, 4 in high school and 2 in college.  But, after those last two years of swimming I pretty much avoided the gym or any type of exercise all together.  Didn't have the best diet either.  I wasn't heavy by any means, but I wasn't exactly "healthy".  During my first pregnancy I gained a ton of wait, 55 pounds to be exact.  Over twice the amount recommended by doctors!  A few too many Baskin Robbins trips.  I wised up the second time around, I only gained 25 for the next pregnancy.  While trying to lose the "baby weight" as we all do after pregnancy, my husband suggested the unthinkable.  Train for a half marathon.  Whaaat?

I could hardly run 2 laps around a track, let alone 13.1 miles.  But, I decided to take on the challenge and started training.  I figured I am physically able, I have two legs that work, I CAN do this.  So why not?  That is when I decided to be Healthy.  Because I Can!  One half marathon down, Las Vegas Rock n' Roll in 2009.

Then baby boy #3 came around!  Another healthy pregnancy.  After he was born I decided to race in my first triathlon.  I'm hooked.  I plan on (God willing) to do at least one triathlon a year.

I ran my second half marathon in Omaha in 2011.  There's no stopping me now.

The Shoe
I decided that the logo for this website should be personal.  The shoe is a silhouette of the shoes that I wore for my first half marathon.  I wore these on day one in training until race day.  I actually still have them, I can't get rid of them :)

They got me through long miles around Vandenberg Air Force Base where I did my training.  Then they got me up and down the Las Vegas Strip.  This is where it all started, this running journey.  I should have them bronzed like baby shoes ;)

I'm just a mom trying to lead a healthy lifestyle, set a good example for my kids and maybe inspire a few others along the way.  I am in no way a trained nutritionist or dietician, nor am I a doctor, physical therapist, or trained fitness expert of any kind.  :)
